My fiance and I decided to get some tintype photos taken for our “Save the Date” mail-outs. This past summer we were poking around Salida, CO, checking out the local scene. We ran across Tim Brown’s Photography studio and thought what a great idea for some wedding invites. Tim was so awesome, very informative on the entire process of taking the tintype photos as well as some history on how chemists by chance stumbled across the effect of light on silver back in the early 1800s. We even got to go into the dark room to see the development process. Heck we even got play around with cyanide!!! This is the fixer for those of you who don’t know. Long story short, the experience was great and the photos turned out awesome. If you’re looking for some vintage tintype photos and in the area be sure to stop by Tim Brown’s Photography studio in Salida, CO. My fiance looks real grouchy in the third photo!
